---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear PGHHOA Community Members,

In November, at least seven vehicles parked on Glen Park Rd. were broken into on the same night. This big incident and a number of others have gone unsolved over the last several months in our neighborhood. I am writing to ask you to be a part of the new Park Glen Heights Neighborhood Watch Committee. You can help fight further crime from coming to our neighborhood by volunteering your time, even only a few hours a year, to this important committee.

I have established three goals for our program that I hope you can help me achieve:

Goal # 1: Form a Neighborhood Watch COMMITTEE of at least 26 members

Goal #2: Increase crime prevention awareness and COMMUNICATION

Goal #3: Better the CLEANLINESS of our community and the streets surrounding us--
"A clean neighborhood is a safe neighborhood."

What can you do to help?

1. REPORT ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY TO THE FAIRFAX COUNTY POLICE! EMERGENCY Line at 9-1-1 for emergencies or crimes in progress, or the NON-EMERGENCY Line at 703-691-2131 to report crimes that already happened or suspicious activity.
2. Attend a Neighborhood Watch Program Information Meeting
3. Become a Neighborhood Watch committee member
4. Keep in touch in case of emergency: Register your contact information with Summit Management Services and on the PGHHOA website at www.pghhoa.org.
5. Help us follow the motto, A clean neighborhood is a safe neighborhood.

Below is an information sheet outlining the programs goals I established for our community.  Please contact me via email at lallen5@gmail.com or by phone at 703-425-1310 to volunteer some time. I look forward to working with you and making a strong committee like our residents did in the past. I thank you in advance for your participation because a few of us can not keep Park Glen Heights safe alone.

Sincerely,

Laura M. Allen

Park Glen Heights HOA Neighborhood Watch Program Goals

Goal #1. To form a Neighborhood Watch COMMITTEE of at least 26 members
You can help by volunteering for at least one of the positions below:
1) WALKING/MOBILE PATROLS TEAM: Must walk in pairs and help patrol the community during the time periods that crime is likely to occur. I need at least 26 people to volunteer to cover four patrols a year so that only a few people do not have to work every weekend.

2) PASSIVE OBSERVATION TEAM: Goal to have 100% of community on this team. All you have to do is to attend a Neighborhood Watch Information Meeting and begin being on the lookout and paying attention to details as you are going about your daily routine.

3) WINDOW WATCHING TEAM: Set a schedule where you routinely watch out the window to help report unusual activity.

4) BLOCK CAPTAINS: Communicate with their block and the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator from time to time to help spread important information. Also will help with getting proxies for the PGHHOA annual meeting and other important information for the PGHHOA Board a few times a year. (5 Positions: Overlook Park, Upper Cliffhaven Dr., Lower Cliffhaven Dr., Upper Highcliffe Ct., Lower Highcliffe Ct.)

5) COMMUNITY CLEANING COORDINATOR: Works with resident volunteers, the PGHHOA Board of Directors, and Fairfax County officials in keeping our neighborhood and the surrounding streets clean.

6) COMMUNITY CLEANING VOLUNTEERS: Need volunteers to help clean on organized cleaning days in and around our community.

Goal #2. To increase crime prevention awareness and COMMUNICATION
1) My biggest goal for this program is to teach 100% of the homes in our community how to be alert and to report suspicious activities to the Police. This can be achieved, by getting a home owner or renter from each town home to attend a Neighborhood Watch Information Meeting. I will offer these meetings several times a year to meet everyones busy schedule. Most importantly, please report any suspicious crime to the police EMERGENCY Line at 9-1-1 for emergencies or crimes in progress, or the NON-EMERGENCY Line at 703-691-2131 to report crimes that already happened or suspicious activity.

2) Fill out the Park Glen Heights Homeowners Association Information Sheet (Included in this packet) if you have not already done this and send it to Summit Management Services. This information is important for us to keep you in the information loop and help others contact you in case of emergency.

3) Visit the Crime Watch Section of the Park Glen Heights Website: www.pghhoa.org. Register your contact information with the website by going to the top left of the page and hit the Register button. Use the form to provide your profile details and request resident access to the resident only areas of our website. Your login details will be emailed to the email address you provide once your account is approved by the administrator. Get the latest PGHHOA news and an updated section on our website dedicated to the neighborhood watch under Crime Watch.

Goal #3. To better the CLEANLINESS of our community and the surrounding areas--"A clean neighborhood is a safe neighborhood."
Many have said, A clean neighborhood is a safe neighborhood. We need everyone to do their part in keeping our properties and the common ground clean. We are looking for someone to coordinate volunteers to help clean along Glen Park Rd. and in our community during different times throughout the year. In addition we ask everyone to follow the trash schedule and bring in your trash cans each and every Tuesday and Friday evening after pick up. If you notice spilled trash in the common areas behind your home or on the street, please help clean it up or report it to our community manager, Gena Salonga at Summit Management Services at gena@summitmanage.com or 703-360-0904.
